Throughout the 1980s Keith Haring created thousands of chalk drawings on the empty advertising spaces within the NYC subway, refining the artistic vocabulary that would become his legacy.
This original exhibition poster, produced in 1990 for Keith Haring: Future Primeval, a retrospective at the Queens Museum, features a classic Haring subway drawing complete with many of the artist’s signature motifs such as the radiant baby, barking dogs, and flying angels. Future Primeval was the first major museum exhibition of Haring's early work and included many of his now-iconic subway drawings.
